Spiritual sequel?

[edit]

The lede states that the film "acts as a spiritual successor to the 2014 film Unbroken".

This can be interpreted in two ways: 1) Path to Redemption is a faith-themed film. (true) 2) The WP article "Spiritual sequel" is defined as "[a film that] does not build upon the storyline established by a previous work as do most traditional prequels or sequels, yet features many of the same elements, themes, and styles". I'm not sure if this is true, quite the opposite: The storyline seems to pick up just where the first Unbroken ended, but the themes, elements and style seems to be rather different.

Thus, perhaps the statement instead should read something like "is a faith-themed sequel to [...]"? St.nerol (talk) 17:24, 10 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
