"Sir Alfred Wallace" a companion of Darwin??

The article claims that the umbrellabird was described by "Sir Alfred Wallace", a companion of Darwin who travelled with him to South America. The citation for this statement points to an untrustworthy aggregator website.

To the best of my knowledge, Alfred Russell Wallace never travelled with Darwin to South America. This claim should either be verified rigorously or removed. Gorillo.Chimpo (talk) 04:46, 29 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
