two things:
- A5/2 is no longer implemented in recent MS I think. (see the A5/2 page and I checked on my iPhone, A5/2 doesn't work)
- I think the authentication process can be encrypted by using the previous encryption get. During the location update request, the key sequence number is given and if it matches with the network they can use the previous session key.
Just a minor thing: According to 3GPP TS 05.01 V8.9.0 the guard period of 8,25 symbol time durations is at the end of a time slot. doesn't make a big difference unless you want to design a radio interface...
