Strong oppose It appears that Ultra Electronics has been broken up into a series of smaller businesses: Ultra Intelligence, Ultra Precision Control Systems, Ultra Energy, and Ultra Maritime. The maritime business is just one of these four businesses. The current Ultra Electronics article should be maintained as a record of the history of that large listed company. I have no objection to new articles on these smaller businesses being started in due course if they prove to be notable. Dormskirk (talk) 06:32, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

Your assumption is inaccurate. Ultra Maritime is now the parent company, with the other entities operating as subdivisions. This comes directly from the company itself, so it's not a matter of speculation. In fact, it remains the same organization under the same ownership—only the name has changed. Creating a separate page under the new name would be misleading, as it is still the same company operating under a new brand. Hairmer (talk) 09:37, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

Oppose. I agree with Dormskirk's rationale. Without checking, the corporate entity that was Ultra Electronics has probably been maintained as Ultra Maritime, however practically that would make for a confusing read given all the changes since 1920. Better (as suggested above) for this page to be maintained for history from founding up until November 2023, and new articles to cover the new businesses if/when notability is established.

In response to that - that is not what your reference states, it says "Ultra Intelligence, Ultra Precision Control Systems, Ultra Energy, and Ultra Maritime now operate as stand alone businesses." Mark83 (talk) 09:57, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

And it goes on to say "Each business maintains its own operational site, and Ultra Maritime is the brand and platform leading the way forward since the launch of our new website in November 2023." This is rather confusing. I first read this as meaning Ultra Maritime is the parent organization but it appears "Ultra" is the new name for the parent company. I think? Even if the press release were more clear, we would need coverage in independent, reliable sources to support a title change per WP:NAMECHANGES (see also: WP:OFFICIALNAME). --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 01:00, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
