I was a diver on the USS Escape when she was involved in the clearance of the Suez Canal in 1974. And I was on her when the USS Hoist and the USS Escape toppled the Argus Island off of Bermuda. 190 feet on Air. We got commendations from a 3 star admiral. Master Chief John Hayes was our master diver. A great guy.
