Incident with Nimitz running Decatur aground

Above article mentions that Nimitz ran the Decatur aground and was court martialed for it. No mention of that incident here and it seems like there should be some mention of it.Jonny Quick (talk) 04:21, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

USS Decatur (DD-5): Commissioning date is wrong

USS Decatur (DD-5) was not commissioned on 19 May 1902, but on 19 May 1903. Codiersklave (talk) 00:20, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

Both references cite 19 May 1902, if you have a verifiable reference that shows this is the wrong date, please post a link, I will check a couple of books I have at home and see if I can find a 19 May 1903 date. It would make sense that it would be 1903, since thats when it was assigned to the Coast Squadron, but it would also mean that it took 3 years to fit her out, which it could have.
