Early Prelims

[edit]

https://www.ufc.com/event/ufc-324

I uploaded a screenshot of the early prelims: https://ibb.co/9mJtSxLY

This is how it appears on the UFC website. Currently, me and @Gsfelipe94 are reverting back and forth because he cannot see the early prelims on the website but it is clear that the early prelims are there. It might be related to the Brazilian UFC website but after checking ufc.com.br - the early prelims appear there too.

What does everyone else think. Marty2Hotty (talk) 18:58, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

This looks like a regional display issue on the UFC website. Something similar happens when someone in Brazil (like me) tries to access the U.S. version of the UFC site — the early prelims don’t show up. However, if you force access through another platform (for example, via Google Translate or a different regional routing), the early prelims do appear. Because of that, it’s more likely a region-based bug or a localization inconsistency. The key reference here should be the standard U.S. page, where the early prelims are clearly listed. Awesome. I think @Gsfelipe94 could not see the early prelims on the page for the reason you mentioned above as he seems to be located in Brazil. Marty2Hotty (talk) 22:18, 23 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yep, but it worked after I tried the suggestion above. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 20:05, 24 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

New bonus format

[edit]

I will be working during this event but I usually am first to post the awards, but I thought about the weekly format we should use. What do people think of the following as an example of how we should foramt it:

The following fighters received bonuses: $100,000 for Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night, and $25,000 for additional finish bonuses.

  • Fight of the Night: Merab Dvalishvili vs. Petr Yan
  • Performance of the Night: Steve Garcia and Donte Johnson
  • Additional finish bonuses: Sean O'Malley, Jean Silva, Allan Nascimento, and Donte Johnson
I disagree with the additional finish bonuses. Those will be like win bonus from now on, so it will be implicit. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 13:11, 25 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
The reliable sources currently calls it "$25,000 Bonus" so that can be added on the third bullet point in the bonus section. UFCBonusExpertParamount (talk) 09:10, 25 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
They are just mentioning if for the first time ever. Every fighter that gets a finish will get that bonus just like a win bonus. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 13:11, 25 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Nope, It's a new bonus award $25,000 Finishing bonus not ufc fighter contract base+win bonus. It's on reliable sources which align Wikipedia polices. UFCBonusExpertParamount (talk) 16:23, 25 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
so we need to add this to the "Bonus Awards" page too and profiles? Hmm... This could get messy if every finish is added to an "accomplishment" right? I think POTN/FOTN should be added to the profiles and to Bonus Awards. Marty2Hotty (talk) 16:34, 25 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think the $25,000 bonus should be mentioned but the recipients don't need to be listed, as it's already implied through the fact they got a finish at all (with the exception of fighters that miss weight like Perez). Although the way it's presented now doesn't look too bad I guess. Greenflipper (talk) 20:28, 25 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
It is not a new bonus. It is an automatic finish bonus for all fighters who do not get the usual PON/FON bonuses. It is pretty clear that everyone will receive it, except fighters that miss weight. That is pretty obvious, as the main bonuses are worth more and are indeed treated as awards. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 00:13, 26 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
It pretty obvious is a new bonus award listed for every qualifying fighter who finish the fight and its company (the ufc) incentives not ufc fighter negotiated bonus award. It simply WP:NOTJUSTYET to say part of their contract. Sp stop removing and warring for own likings. UFCBonusExpertParamount (talk) 02:02, 26 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
