Difference between old DMA and UDMA?

What about UDMA 7?
[edit]In this other article it is said that "CompactFlash Revision 6.0 (November 2010) added UltraDMA Mode 7 (167 Mbyte/s), ATA-8/ACS-2 sanitize command, TRIM and an optional card capability to report the operating temperature range of the card.[32]". While UDMA 7 CompactFlash cards are already on the market, this article doesn't tell anything about it. Past tense
[edit]These DMA transfer modes are still in use with SATA, because every SATA device is backwards compatible to PATA. The SATA link speed (PHY layer) is independent from the DMA transfer mode. So a modern drive uses UltraDMA mode 5 or 6 (or any other one) over a SATA 6 Gbps link and isn't limited to 100 or 133 MB/s at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.224.140.73 (talk) 18:09, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
