Trichrome is a staining procedure used in histology/pathology to distinguish between collagen and smooth muscle in tumors. It is also a routine procedure on liver and kidney biopsies. --Nmacholl 00:42, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Expert help needed

I added the Expert needed. I really don't know if trichrome is the same as trichome as the redirect indicated. But it has an different definition as indicated nearly three years ago by the comment above. If there are two definitions, then a disambiguous page is needed. I used a major search engine for "Trichrome" and ended up with the first item given was the "Trichome" page on Wikipedia. With this results, we will eventually make trichome and trichrome to be synonymous! KudzuVine (talk) 14:35, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I notice that this article is under botany. The word trichrome is used in histology as a class of staining methods and they mainly apply to zoological microscope sections, but not exclusively. They are commonly used in human and veterinary medical diagnostic laboratories.
