Neither this article nor others I have seen explain why it was necessary to go to Australia for sea cumcumbers. As I understand it, they are found off Sulawesi as all over Southeast Asia. Was the local supply just insufficient for the large demand from the Chinese market? Were sea cucumbers off Sulawesi over-harvested? Did some disaster kill off the local supply?Bill (talk) 18:28, 6 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
