Agree that this was left out (btw you mean Trayvon), but what would this trivial fact add to this article? There are so many other important facts left out, which some have already been mentioned, that would have a greater impact and add more transparency. Why does this article avoid the topic of NBC creating the public outrage by blatantly editing the audio of Zimmerman's 911 call to paint him as racist, as well as the lawsuit that followed? Why does this article avoid the topic of NBC creating the public outrage by blatantly editing the audio of Zimmerman's 911 call to paint him as racist, as well as the lawsuit that followed? The only reason this became such a hotbed issue was because of journalistic involvement which deliberately altered the narrative to induce a more sensational response. This needs to be corrected in order to provide a complete and unbiased depiction of the situation the article focuses on.

Martin was on the phone when Zimmerman stalked him. Zimmerman was told by the police dispatcher to not follow Martin. He then confronted Martin, Martin defended himself and Zimmerman killed him.
