Sockets de facto standard

- Yes, they're a formal standard, but the article is making the case that they are now the standard for network programming, as in "used to the exclusion of any other network programming interface, most especially TLI." Although sockets are now the overwhelming favorite interface, there is no formal standard mandating their use that I know of, so the article is correct in this sense.
- It might be clearer to say "accepted standard" or "most commonly used" rather than going all Latin on the reader.--NapoliRoma (talk) 14:38, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
