"Promo" CD score

Anyone have any information w.r.t. the "Promo" CD that appears to be making its rounds through the Internet? Like who leaked it, is it an official release or candidate for release or something?

Here's the track list I've found of that CD.

The complete promo CD actually has 52 tracks, many of them under a minute long, for a total length of 1 hour, 17 minutes. These appear to be the actual music cues as used in the movie, rather than the full-length versions meant for solo listening, and many of the cues missing from the 1-disc set can only be found in that at the moment. It would be nice to have some mention of it made in the article, but I can't find any source of detailed information about it apart from torrents where it can be downloaded. —Robotech_Master 03:10, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

It appears there are two such promo scores. The one I listed above is the first one, and it recently went on eBay. It does *not* have Bumblebee on the cover (I did snag a copy of the cover art, unfortunately, I don't know the legality of actually posting it on Wikipedia since it most likely is copyrighted). It's different from the real score, and it does say "Advance Score from Motion Picture" along the top. I'd add more, but alas, I lost (my bid just wasn't high enough). I won't post any more info on this promo score until I actually have the physical disc in my hands. All I've gotten now is some extra cover art.

What shipping delay?

Amazon aren't taking one to three weeks to ship; I ordered my copy on Thursday night and recieved it on Saturday thanks to the insta-shippy thing. That said I did order off .co.uk, so maybe it means it just needs to get over the pond... Lady BlahDeBlah (talk) 16:10, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Question

I have come across a great many people who comment on the score's stylistic similarity to the works of Zimmer, and I have noticed something to that effect myself. (I'm a fan of the score, so I am not intending to attack it.) Should there be a (cited) mention of some sort in the article? If we can find a cited article, then yes. Either Steve Jablonsky himself commenting on it, or perhaps a reviewer of the score commenting on how similar it was to Zimmer. Either of these would be an acceptable source. I'll check around IGN and see what I can find. Anakinjmt (talk) 05:28, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

I know of one film-score-reviewing site that mentioned this; the only thing is that it appears visibly biased against Zimmer's studio in general. For that reason, I am not particularly eager to include it, but what do others think? RadicalTwo (talk) 14:37, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

I don't see how it can be worked around, given the following excerpts, deriding the composers, studio, or listeners:

I agree. You see what I meant...I only found it by chance, looking for a CD cover, and then searched it out of curiosity. Needless to say, I was shocked at the rather...opinionated text. Though I have heard from other sources how stylistically similar Transformers is to other scores, which is what impelled me to post a section here in the first place.
