Not the first "trans pride"

[edit]

I'd like to sort out this historical inaccuracy. Trans Pride Brighton began in 2013, and claims to be the first "trans pride" in the UK, but Sparkle, in Manchester, began in 2005. Although it wasn't titled "Trans Pride", it was the first transgender celebration in the country, and comprised the elements of a trans pride today. It expanded into an annual all-weekend festival in 2006. Website snapshots are available on archive.org. Just because something isn't ENTITLED Trans Pride doesn't invalidate it as A "trans pride". This inaccuracy needs addressing, and I'm prepared to do so. EmmaPeelsKitten (talk) 14:06, 16 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
