Early in the days of TCP/IP networking, it was found that adding headers to data before sending required copying the data a few times. So trailer option was added, such that they go on the end, instead. At least SunOS had this option, as I remember it from ifconfig. It might be gone by now, though, but should still be described here. Gah4 (talk) 22:52, 29 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
