Disambiguation

[edit]

There has been a suggestion made that there is a band from Turku with the name Traffic Island. That page does not currently exist on wikipedia, but if a page was created that met the notability requirements, this page should be placed with a disambiguation. I wanted to record this note because I removed it from the article page where it did not belong Metiscus (talk) 21:00, 25 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Disagree with the hypothetical requirement for a disambiguation page; that particular example would be better dealt with with a disambiguation hatnote. Klbrain (talk) 16:42, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

"ghost island" (UK usage)

[edit]

I've lived in the UK my entire life (I'm 55 now) and I've never heard of ghost island being used as a synonym of "traffic island"; so someone may be pulling Wikipedia's collective leg. Or it may be confined to the southeast, which in terms of it being a UK idiom, is about as informative as a leg-pull. Nuttyskin (talk) 21:15, 25 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
