I know he probably won't make it, but has Fernandez appeared on any Hall of Fame ballots? Or isn't he eligible yet?The Invisible Man 21:04, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

He was on four ballots in 2007. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 18:37, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
He had some good seasons, but fell well short of National Baseball Hall Of Fame standards. He was never a league MVP, World Series MVP, League Championship Series MVP, All-Star Game MVP. Fernandez never won a batting title, never led the league in total hits. He never won a Silver Slugger Award. He is well below 3,000 hits, 500 home runs etc. etc. He was very good for quite a few seasons. Never dominant in any one season in his league. Doesn't rank at the top of the all time greats or the top of his era. ~2026-64424-8 (talk) 00:29, 21 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

This is one of the many problems of Wikipedia. They don't do any primary research and reporting. They want easy copy and paste links to actual credible journalistic sources. The citation really shouldn't be a link to a popular media report. They should actually verify with the public records. In this case records of death in Florida. ~2026-64424-8 (talk) 00:34, 21 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
