Merging of Articles

In the English Wikipedia there are many articles on variants of the name Antonius. It would make sense to merge them into a single article that lists and explains the various name variants.

When a variant of the name is searched for, it should redirect to the main article. Incorrect or imprecisely worded information should be corrected and presented in the main article without the contradictions that can currently be found in the articles concerned.

Even the English and Greek versions of the article Antonios disagree about the origin of the name, with the Greek version reflecting current scholarship more accurately. As early as 1897, George Davis Chase, in The Origins of Roman Praenomina, referred to Wilhelm Deecke’s Etruskische Forschungen, Drittes Heft: Die etruskischen Vornamen to show that the origin is likely Etruscan.
