list?

Should the list of tone indicators be expanded? I've seen a lot more in common use, like /neu for a neutral tone, /r for a romantic tone, /lyr or /ly for posting song lyrics, /genq for a genuine question (but it might not be worth mentioning since we already have /gen?)... Unclear Tone Indicators

I think it would be useful to add a section about unclear tone indicators or criticism of tone indicators, possibly using some points from this video.

Table too long

The list-of table has way too many entries. It's running afoul of WP:INDISCRIMINATE and the section's contents is not WP:RS-supported ("list of Twitter slang" from a random website). It needs some major culling.  Nixinova   T   C   10:40, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Do you think it would be helpful to make a differentiation in "context by emotion"<->"context by source" using two tables, and possibly aid this conflict?

Things such as /j, /s, /gen and such would mention the emotion of a message, or emotional meaning behind it. Whilst indicators/tags as /ly, /f, /rh and such would have the goal of making more clear what the text given is. I would like to note, /rh could possibly be a point of conflict as to which one it should be in.

There are certainly many others, I personally originally came to add /ref, meaning reference, in humour context. Though given this table is about internet culture, it seems, for which I could find, not much credible sources talk extensively about it.

I have checked out the linked pages you mentioned, and to me it seems my originally proposed idea would not help with this. Possibly there is a need for an external page, that has a list, which could be linked to. Though it would still seem nice for there to be a concise list about this on the page, whilst clarifying some may depend on the community.

A possible different solution or idea would be to have a table (/ multiple tables) that specifically references a 'community'. Those being for example Twitter, 4chan, 2channel, etc. Though this idea seems to be a re-doing of the original problem, it becoming a dump of info.

lowkey (/lwk) and positive (/pos /pc) removed for "no source"

I added the lowkey and positive tone indicator to the list. They were both removed due to a lack of a source. I am not sure where you expect me to put one, as none of the other tone indicators have a source. This is a form of meta-communication, there's not academic papers covering each and every term. These are both commonly used, and it makes no sense to have /neg but not /pos. Picking and choosing certain terms to list doesnt make any sense, its completely arbitrary. There are sources in the header and section (), along with other places, which is where I sourced all the entries from.
