"Sidwell joined Leicestershire in 1913, mid-season, debuting on July 12 against Warwickshire." It would be unusual for a player - especially a professional (which I imagine he was) to join a county in mid-season. Might it be merely that he made his debut for the first team in mid-season, or do you have some hard evidence? BTW, nice article, I reckon that it's more than a stub, and have uograded it to "start". Looking at his Cricinfo profile, where I imagine the text is actually his Wisden obituary, it reckons that he disn't actually join the staff till 1914, so I suppose the county must have found themselves short of a keeper through injury mid-way through 1913 and employeed him on a match-by-match basis.
