The section on the relationship with Pentax is completely unsubstantiated, and appears incorrect in some details. Matthew Miller (talk) 17:14, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Some information is available from the German web magazine [1]. The cooperation seems to have started in 2004, in 2006 the lenses became available. 178.198.2.123 (talk) 11:33, 16 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speculation

[edit]

I have removed this:

but the future of the Tokina brand name is currently uncertain. A likely scenario is that the Tokina design lab will be merged with the Pentax lens division, with lenses sold for Pentax mount under that brand name, and for other mounts (Canon, Nikon) continuing to be sold under the Tokina brand. It is also possible that the new company will discontinue the availability of Tokina/Pentax lens designs for use on other SLR camera systems.

because it is unsourced speculation derived most likely from internet forums not populated by anyone actually in the know. Matthew Brown (Morven) (T:C) 00:18, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I was looking for a list of Tokina lenses

[edit]

Wouldn't it be nice to have a list of current Tokina lenses? I am looking for a lens similar to a Sigma 30/1.4 DC for my Canon EF/EF-S mount. --89.204.139.231 (talk) 09:39, 5 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Removing the verification tag

[edit]

Given that most of the article is now cited, the article tag should be removed. Ethanmurphy95 (talk) 03:47, 16 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Is there a lead admin for this page? 18:56, 5 May 2026 (UTC) Ethanmurphy95 (talk) 18:56, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don't know why you pinged me specifically for this as I never edited this article before nor do I have much knowledge about this subject (not that I mind), but the sources that have been added recently have mostly been either not independent of the subject or otherwise unreliable. Specifically, TechRadar is a reliable source, but kenko-tokina.co.jp and kenkoglobal.com are not independent of the subject and primary sources, and thus do not count as significant coverage of the subject. Those sources are fine for very straightforward statements of fact such as listing the types of products Tokina sells, but for the history of the company, a secondary source would be better. Furthermore, photographylife.com, oemimaging.com and lightpoint.info appear to be self published content and thus unreliable.
Also, there's no "lead admin" for this page - no one has ownership over the articles on Wikipedia. If you have any other questions about editing feel free to ask me anytime on my talkpage. ~delta {talkcont🇰🇷🎢} 16:28, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
