- Today (Australian TV program) → Today (1982 TV program)
- Today (1960 TV series) → Today (1960 TV program)
– The 1960 TV series appears to be incorrectly named per WP:NCTV as it appears to lack continuing story elements. That would make the 1982 TV program more clearly ambiguous with it, and suggest fully disambiguating both. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:58, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

Today (1982 TV program) → Today (Australian TV program) – The previous RM did not appear to consider the current article/TV program as the primary topic, and in my opinion, created more ambiguity compared to the previous title. Adding disambiguation based off the year that the TV program began is counter-intuitive to me, and for a reader to find this article about the current program, they need to already know which year the show began and that the article is disambiguated from the 1960s show based on such. Not to mention that the current Today (Australian TV program) page title just redirects to another disambiguation page listing all TV shows globally that include "Today" in the title. - Oppose Both Today (1960 TV program) and Today (1982 TV program) are TV programs so neither can get the title. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:07, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Pppery - I'm not 100% sure that this is the case, the current program is quite obviously the primary topic between the two options when it comes to being an Australian TV program. Would you have any alternative options that don't obscure the articles with the year that they began and makes it clear which article is the current breakfast news program? Tim (Talk) 04:33, 22 September 2025 (UTC)
- Problem here is that you are then effectually making a primary topic claim for an incomplete or partial disambiguation. It takes a lot to push beyond the established threshold of making such a claim, such as what happened with Thriller (album), and the subject of Today (1982 TV program) is not nearly that notable. - Oppose. Today (Australian TV program) is insufficient disambiguation. 162 etc. (talk) 16:58, 30 September 2025 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved. There's consensus that this meets the expectations for PDABs, and I don't think anything in WP:NCTV (unlike WP:NCF) requires me to disregard that consensus. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 04:07, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
Today (1982 TV program) → Today (Australian TV program) – Adding a date from over 40 years ago is very confusing for a current TV program. - Those only technically disambiguate the pages, with no consideration for actually helping a reader find the page they are looking for. One has no responses, and the other has only two. Late Night Coffee (ping me) 08:58, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
- The current title is correct per WP:NCBC and WP:PDAB. 162 etc. (talk) 16:40, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
- WP:NCBC starts by stating that the guideline do not apply to television programs, and WP:PDAB is an essay/information page, not a consensus guideline or policy (and does not give any guidance as a result). Anyways, WP:PRIMARYPDAB supports that partial disambiguation (i.e., this article becomes (Australian TV program) as the primary topic for the TV program disambiguation options) is an option. - Support - I simply don't see a reason to oppose. I agree that it's confusing. Based on the 2025 pageviews, the 1982 program averages way more pageviews than the 1960 program, so it seems the 1982 is the primary topic and people are more likely looking for it. Plus, it seems the 1960 one only aired for one year, while the 1982 program has been airing significantly longer (4 decades). The 1960 one could be moved to Today (GTV-9 program) tbh. - Relisting comment: Relisting as page views are at a ratio within the range of previous consensuses for TV show PDABS. ⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 21:22, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- The 1982 Today, a nationally networked program on the air 40+ years, is definitely the primary topic by any metric—distribution, pageviews, long-term significance—within Australia over the 1960 Today, which was seen only in Melbourne for one season. I don't think NCTV is set up appropriately in this instance when there are two articles in the same country and this much of a disparity (30-fold) in pageviews. Support moving this page. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 23:16, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- It's still incomplete disambiguation, which is never a good idea. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:22, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- While NCTV does discourage this, it has happened before: Wikipedia:Partially disambiguated page names#(TV series) or similar. 30:1 is a little lower than most of the examples but not unheard of. Who Do You Think You Are? (Australian TV series) is a very close example (49:1 at time of move and similarly lopsided in influence). Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 07:01, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

- Relisting comment: Second relist to see if notification brings any more participation. The arguments for a PDAB seem worth considering. ASUKITE 16:46, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- Weak support I have been slowly moving away from considering pageviews as a primary criterion for deciding on a primary topic, however the views for the 1982 program do dwarf the other, and the arguments by Sammi Brie and Limmidy both detail compelling reasons why we should favor the longer-running and more broadly distributed program. This is probably an edge case for a PDAB. ASUKITE 17:42, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Weak support. After a lot of consideration what pushes me over here is how unhelpful the disambiguation ends up being otherwise. WP:NCTV demands that it be disambiguated with the year, but this is a breakfast show, and people don't think of them in terms of when they began, because you don't watch them as "seasons", you watch them live on the TV. (1960) and (1982) is likely only going to help you if you are aware of the incredibly obscure morning show that ran for a single season between 1960 and 1961 the disambiguation helps you, but most people will surely only know about the one that has been running for nearly half a century. I dislike a PDAB for this level of page view discrepancy, but due to the very real possibility of the current setup causing navigational issues for many readers I think it's just about warranted, despite the fact it feels "off" to us editors. ⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 18:17, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
