ref. Tobis Film was a ...

[edit]

Basically the first sentence is wrong. "Tobis Film" is (!) a german film distributing company that was found by Horst Wendlandt (as the article says later) and there had never been another "Tobis Film".

If you check the "external link" at the bottom of the article you see the correct names of the companies that existed during the era that is called "Weimarer Republik" in Germany and the nazi era: Tobis Tonbildsyndikat GmbH, Tobis Filmkunst GmbH, Tobis Filmverleih, Tobis-Sascha Filmindustrie AG, etc. - but no "Tobis Film". Most of the facts within the article seem to be correct. Maybe you should check https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobis_Film although it needs some improvement, too. 93.104.79.174 (talk) 20:42, 13 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

I agree to all of the above (5 years later).
Today I changed the names from "Tobis Film" to "Tobis-Tonbild-Syndikat" where it was needed. As ths is my first edit ever, I wouldnt change the name of the entry itself and just hope you guys can figure it out yourself. Kaeptn Twitsch (talk) 11:19, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Kaeptn Twitsch Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm afraid your approach didn't work. To rename a page, you have to Help:Move it. But if and before you do, please consider that, by appearances, both entities are notable. This leaves us with two choices:
  1. Put info about one company as a section into the other and redirect to that section, or
  2. Create two independent articles
I suggest the latter, but that's just my 2¢. Paradoctor (talk) 13:42, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
