The article said: "It was constructed in 1948 and 1949 to carry Interstate 93." Is that true? It doesn't carry Interstate 93, and as far as I know it never has; it carries Route 1. AJD 09:41, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)

The article says the Mystic Bridge replaced the Chelsea Street Bridge in 1950. There is a Chelsea Street Bridge now that goes over the Chelsea River. Is that a different bridge than the one referred to in the Mystic/Tobin Bridge article? The entry leads one to believe that the pre-1950 Chelsea Street Bridge went from Chelsea to Charlestown, as the current Mystic/Tobin Bridge does now. Is that correct? If so, where might I find information about its size and height, pre-1950? Tolls on Tobin and Bunker Hill Bridge

I removed the following from the article: "By contrast, drivers crossing into Boston from the northwest via the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge, which was built as part of the Big Dig, do not have to pay a toll." Most people that cross into Charlestown on the Tobin Bridge will continue their travel on the I-93 and therefore also use the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge and the Big Dig tunnel system. The parallel Charlestown Bridge is also not tolled - In fact, both only "cross into" Boston Proper and not the City of Boston.

Right now, motor vehicles that cross the Mystic River (and the harbor it flows into) to get to Boston on ALL routes are tolled - Those are the Tobin Bridge, Route 1 tunnels and I-90 tunnels. All other bridges leading into Boston are not tolled. This is not an issue of the Big Dig, but of where both bridges are located - If you come from the East, you have to pay a toll, if you come from the North, South or East, you don't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.27.194 (talk) 04:08, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

No mention of the current lead paint situation?

Possible replacement

I removed the following from the article as I think its too soon for a section about this. The source (hidden in edit text) says this is "many years away".- Knowledgekid87 (talk) 02:31, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

In September 2023, MassDOT announced a study on replacement options for the bridge.

The 2 mile figure is for the viaduct that includes the bridge, which stretches from Spruce Street in Chelsea to the tunnel under Charlestown center. Google Maps has that viaduct at 2.2 miles. Dralwik|^{Have a Chat} 02:13, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
