A Bit More History?

Might be interesing to give a bit more detail on the historical development of Tinkertoys, and compare how the original, 1950's and modern sets differ. The basic wheels, for example, are much larger in sets made after 1992 than they were before, and sets through the 50's and 60's didn't include the longer purple sticks.

Where were Tinkertoys made after they left Evanston, IL, and where are they made now? (The original site is now owned by Northwestern University, which uses the building on it for Facilities Management. That building appears to be too recently built to have been the orignal Tinkertoy plant.) Who owned the company before Playskool bought it, and when did current Playskool parent Hasbro transfer it to itself and away from Playskool? Via quickly Googling, I have found only 2 rather minimal historical sources:

Measurements after 1992?

Saying what the measurements were before a date implies they were different after that date. Did they change and if they did, to what? Bizzybody (talk) 06:57, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Superstructs

How does the "Superstructs" toy line relate to Tinkertoy? It looks like Superstructs is a Tinkertoy clone. Did Tinkertoy patents expire? 131.200.248.39 (talk) 14:18, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
