My understanding of Inscription through Slavic language

   Itun turuce venel atelinas Tinas cliniiaras.
   This has given Venel Atelinas for the sons of Tin 

It could be transliterated through Slavivc language as "Eton daruče Venel Ateli-naš Dnevoš / dinaš člani Ras

Gender

Like many other Etruscan deities, his name is gender neutral. This is nonsense. We know very little about Etruscan language, but what little we know seems to indicate that there were no gender neutral names like Simcha or Lindsay. And even if there were some, why would Tins/Tinia be counted among them, if he was the father of Hercle (i.e. neither "mother" nor somebody ambiguous)? 89.64.69.98 (talk) 03:19, 5 February 2024 (UTC)

the claim was that his name was epicene, so his being a father is irrelevant. but 'tins' has a masculine -s, and otherwise we don't know and it's not stated in the source. perhaps masculine -e and feminine -i or -a came to be applied to people and weren't extended to the gods, but any such statement is going to be speculation — kwami (talk) 08:45, 3 September 2025 (UTC)
