FYI. Ting Mobile seems to be in the middle of collapse, although info is spotty. They mailed new SIM cards, but these don't work. I've spent the last week, maybe 8-10 hours dealing with service reps who bounce me from one to another dept. only to tell me their computer system is down and they can't help me. Website is down, too, and reddit posts suggest "circling down the drain" and possible bankruptcy. I don't have the patience to collect reliable sources, but I'll try to update this talk page entry as I find more info. Hard to tell what's actually happening. Approx 0% of my WP edits are about corporations, but in this case, I'm an old-time customer witnessing what looks like total corporate collapse in real time. 67.198.37.16 (talk) 23:08, 2 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Oh, haha. Turns out they are a subsidiary of a giant corporation, Boost Mobile. Here I was thinking they're run out of some guys living room. They're in the middle of some merger & acquisition that started in 30 Sept 2024, and are under federal mandate to reach 80% by 31 December 2024. (No references; I learned this from other WP articles.) That explains the rush-rush-hurry-hurry aspect of their campaign. I assume that the outages and general confusion are due to the huge crush of customers that they are transferring around. They started late, didn't plan ahead, and so I get to be the one who can't make phone calls for a week. So far. We'll see. I'm still hunting online for references and details. 67.198.37.16 (talk) 00:45, 3 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also appears that the business model is changed considerably from what I remember. We used them for several years as a cell carrier; their US-based support team was phenomenal. They appear to mostly be competing in the ISP space now in certain US cities, and might bundle a phone in with that if you buy an ISP plan. Hmph. 173.25.70.145 (talk) 16:32, 20 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
