Clerogamy

I don't dispute that Timothy Radcliffe has advocated clerical celibacy becoming optional, but it seems a very odd line to include in such a short biography. He has argued for many things over the years, this being a not particularly illuminating or controversial example. If no one objects, I propose to remove this line and the accompanying link: "Radcliffe has backed priestly marriage, sometimes called clerogamy". FuzzBat (talk) 12:44, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Non-bishop at conclave

Apparently some original research mixed in, so I will understand if it's relegated to this talk page for now. I can't recall where I saw such statement, but non-bishops (including Nicola Canali, who would crown Pope John XXIII) were at 1958 conclave. After 1962, it wasn't until Henri de Lubac that another non-bishop was cardinal, so that the 1963 conclave and the 2 1978 conclaves had bishop participants only. I did see somewhere that later conclaves (before 2025) had no non-bishop participants either, since the non-bishop cardinals were near 80 or already over 80 when they became cardinals; those later conclaves are 2005 and 2013. At this writing, this is in the wikipedia article about Catholic cardinals (Radcliffe being the only non-bishop conclave participant since that 1962 rule change). Carlm0405 (talk) 20:47, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
