Trisolaran?
[edit]Is the term trisolarans or the related adjective, appearing periodically (perhaps chaotically) in the episode summaries here, actually used by the Chinese production team in any fashion, for the series?
We ask in ignorance, not having yet seen the English subtitles, and otherwise not yet having come across the word.
We understood that this term was invented by the translator of the original novel into English (thus not appearing in the original Chinese novel), a decision made to avoid use of a transliteration of the Chinese (e.g., Sān tǐ), the transliteration being the decision that the writers and show-runners chose for the American production, 3 Body Problem.
For Three-Body (the title subject of the article), did the producers and writers choose the near verbatim Sān tǐ, or some form of the American translator-invented "Trisolaran"?
We understand that with the varying forms of the word, and the varying places decisions have been made (in the novel and its translation, in the unique series, and in an unreleased Chinese feature, etc.), that the matter of what decision was made may be more complex than we have presented.
