Sky Skooter

[edit]

The "Sky Skooter" spelling is used by Juptner's U.S. Civil Aircraft (Vol. 8) pp. 316–319.Nigel Ish (talk) 11:01, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Juptner also says that the 1953 version was the T-111 (powered by a 90 hp engine), and that the T-211 (with a 100 hp O-200) didn't appear until 1964. What sources say that the 211 was built in 1953?Nigel Ish (talk) 11:08, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Note also that the actual article in Flying cited actually does use the "Skooter" spelling if you look at the actual article ( Karant, Max (August 1947). "FLYING's Check Pilot: The Thorp Sky Skooter". Flying. Vol. 41, no. 2. pp. 44–45, 84.)
Interesting. Both the Peperell and Simpson books use either "Sky Scooter" or "Skyscooter". Perhaps we should add a note in the article that sources disagree on the spelling. On a slightly unrelated note, Peperell consistently misspells Thorp's name as "Thorpe". - ZLEA TǀC 20:17, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
