The article reads in part:

Prior to his time as mayor, Bloodworth was a wealthy merchant and a member of the mercantile guild the Company of Vintners, although he was a timber merchant. He was also held the post of Master of the Company for a time.

The evidence may (or not) support (as to the implication of the crucial explanatory word "primarily" that he was also a wine merchant, rather than a prodigious sot & consumer activist, included in the guild under, say, the Community Advocate Act of 1957)

... a wealthy merchant, primarily of timber, a member of the mercantile guild the Company of Vintners, and for a time its Master of the Company.

The existing 'graph should not be permitted to awkwardly stand there fiddling with its cufflinks, but this editor knows not what facts led an editor to write that as they did, and is not undertaking the research needed to fix it. Another is urged to.

You're right, now that I look at it again, it is unclear. Thanks for pointing it out. I rewrote the paragraph to clarify what it was intended to say. Hopefully, this should remove the confusion. Egsan Bacon 03:54, 23 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
