Ambiguous Terminology
[edit]Thiolase apparently has two commonly used meanings. “ An obsolete generic term for any enzyme…which catalyses a reaction between a compound, R–R’, and a thiol, R’–SH, forming R–S–R’ and R'–H.” (https://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/thiolase), or it can just be short for ACAT. The article currently seems to be inconsistently using both of these definitions. Since a page for the specific enzyme already exists, and this one seems to already be more about the group, I think it’s better to have this article mean the generic term, but some redirects may need to be eventually changed. For now, I will modify the lede to make specify the scope of the article Pabnau (talk) 19:02, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
