Other films
[edit]I was updating List of filming locations in and around Vancouver when I looked up imdb.com's listing for The Thing; I'd been surprised that The Thing (film) only goes to Carpenter's as there was a 1978 one as well, and an even older one (in B&W I recall) than that. Move article to Thing (disambiguation)

- @Livingroom Productions: Welcome to Wikipedia! The way this works is the concept of a "primary topic", detailed at Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Is_there_a_primary_topic?. If one term is the most popular or most significant, that goes at the base name and the disambiguation page has (disambiguation), like with China and China (disambiguation). If no term clearly "wins", then the base term hosts the disambiguation page, and no "(disambiguation)" is required. See Mercury for an example where neither the element nor the deity nor the planet predominate. That's the case here (neither Marvel nor objects in general nor the John Carpenter film "wins"), so just "Thing" it is. SnowFire (talk) 16:52, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
