"His songs, like There were Roses, and Daughters and Sons, [sic.] which have been recorded by Joan Baez, Kathy Matthea, Dolores Keane, Sean Keane, Frank Patterson, Dick Gaughan, The Dubliners and many others have been translated into many languages and are currently included in the English language syllabus in German secondary schools."

Someone took this poorly written sentence from Tommy Sands's website and parsed it incorrectly to assume that all of these artists recorded "There Were Roses".

But when you take out the subordinate clause "like There were Roses, and Daughters and Sons [sic.]", you're left with: "His songs ... which have been recorded by Joan Baez, Kathy Matthea, Dolores Keane, Sean Keane, Frank Patterson, Dick Gaughan, The Dubliners and many others have been translated into many languages and are currently included in the English language syllabus in German secondary schools." This does not say that those artists recorded "TWR."

I am unable to find any evidence that D. Keane, F. Patterson, The Dubliners, or J. Baez performed or recorded this song. It's possible that The Dubliners performed it since Paddy Rilley was a past member, but I didn't turn up an example but it is not listed as a work on MusicBrainz. The only Sands song that I could find Baez recording was "Ode to Sarajevo" and that probably was a joint credit with Vedran Smailovic for Sands.
