We are going to have to address their rightward pivot

A section should be added to the "reception" or "controversies" section explaining that many progressives, many former fans, even some of their own hosts and former hosts have been extremely critical of TYT lately, perceiving them to be moving in a more right wing direction. There are a lot of quotes that can be pulled up from people like Sam Seder, Zac and Gavin of the Vanguard, Francesca Fiorentini (who was fired earlier this year), Mondale Robinson (whose resignation is already mentioned on this page) and otĥers. Ana Kasparian especially has been antagonistic to her progressive viewers for a couple of years now.

The Vanguard is a YouTube channel that has exploded recently due primarily to their coverage of TYT and the migration of many of its viewers from TYT itself.

Just the other day, for example, Cenk Uygur did a friendly interview with known right-wing provocateur Marjorie Taylor Greene which was very controversial among their viewers and led to even longtime producer and host Jayar Jackson criticizing Cenk on The Damage Report (a show in the TYT network).

TYT has become almost unrecognizable to many of its former fans, and it is only moving further in that direction as Cenk shifts from appealing to a progressive audience to appealing to a more conservative audience. As someone who has a bias, and not much wikipedia experience, I may not be the best one to edit the page. But at some point it does need to be addressed if we want to portray and accurate picture of what the network stands for, at least in the eyes of viewers.

"Right-wing pivot". Thats a telling comment. I found myself here because this Wikipedia page cites TYT as a left-wing outlet, and I have a bone to pick on that matter. I've been watching for a long time and while I agree with their reporting, I do not believe that there is a political slant at TYT. Is it slant to cover money in politics? Or is it only slant once you uncover a particular politician's wrongdoing? If its the latter, then certainly one CANNOT call TYT left-wing because they have a history of calling out wrongdoing on both sides of the isle. It cannot be the former because then no one will ever be able to achieve credibility reporting on what may otherwise only be characterized as factual. A dismal state of information reporting. IOW, the politicization of reporting is swallowing everything, even unbiased reporting. Thats very bad for democracy. The US Constitution protects the press and free speech. Both of these are under attack.

I don't believe TYT is deserving of the moniker left-wing, though its true that many of the journalists (besides Cenk) have a fairly obvious slant. But that's the commentary media mostly. When Cenk interviews someone one on one, that is what I consider the crux or core of the program, and its not biased at all. Cenk has also been making it a goal of his and the program's to attract right-leaning consumers. This is true, but does not constitute a "pivot" to the right. Its more like he wants to break the strangle hold all of the actual privatized right-wing propaganda has on the American intellect. Cenk acknowledges people's concerns, fears and desires. People who aren't located in either NYC or L.A. And this is a noble non-partisan effort because its about Truth vs. Propaganda, not Left vs. Right. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, is that fact or propaganda? It is possible to report factually, not report with the intent to execute an agenda. Only if the agenda is to give the masses access to real information. If that concept is left-leaning, then we truly are off the rails and someone is literally pulling the strings inside of the American intellect.

I think a useful source for any revision of this page would be Kasparian's own rationale for the political shift of the TYT. According to her, it has to do with a sexual assault she experienced in, I believe, 2024. TYT has, in recent years, moved undeniably rightward, whether Ana Kasparian’s embrace of trans-exclusionary radical feminism, a movement rooted in rightwing co-optation of feminism, or Cenk Uyghur’s obsession with “capitalism and centrism,” that has led him to become a police state apologist, and to fiercely defend the rights for fascists to be fascist. ~2026-87633-8 (talk) 19:47, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

The article says "The Young Turks is the second longest-running online news and politics talk show (after The Alex Jones Show started in 1999).[11][21][22][23]

but according to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy_Now! Democracy Now was founded in 1996 which would make it the longest running news and politics show online, even before Alex Jones.
