...do we have a source for the 'woolwich branches to close by end of 2006' statement? I can't find any reference to that with a quick google or glance at the BBC news site.

I agree. Removed until proven. Carbonix 12:04, 5 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Looks like there has been an announcement about the future of the Woolwich today. Updated accordingly. Mrph 17:05, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

An IP keeps adding a link to Wates Group in the "see also" section. The IP claims, through edit summaries, that the Wates family who were involved in the early history of the Woolwich are cousins of Wates Construction family. There is currently no mention of such a connection in this article, sourced or otherwise. The link to Wates Group in the "see also" section has already been removed by several editors but the IP keeps re-inserting it. Even if a citation can be found to support the connection, I doubt whether it is notable in the context of the history of The Woolwich. I should add that the IP has also made personal attacks on my talk page and, in an edit summary, against another editor. Dormskirk (talk) 20:51, 7 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
