@Praxidicae: The Sprawl is Calgary's only independent news outlet, has won awards, and has been written about extensively in reputable news outlets (CBC, Bloomberg, etc) which are cited in this article. Outlets like The Breach which are arguably newer and less notable than The Sprawl, have Wikipedia articles. Independent outlets deserve the same credibility as "legacy" traditional outlets. If you take the time to look at my references you'll see this organization has been discussed elsewhere at length since it was launched in 2017. My attention to The Sprawl's 2021 hiring and firing timeline should be proof enough that I'm not affiliated with the outlet, and I don't believe the article is promotional in nature. I'm a Canadian editor with some knowledge of independent media and believe more independent outlets should be on this site. Happy to chat further. Xanthophyll22 (talk) 20:16, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

This page should not be speedily deleted because... it seems pretty notable to me… and well documented --2605:8D80:326:89E6:7C08:A378:8BC7:D562 (talk) 20:31, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

This page should not be speedily deleted because WP:SIGCOV is established by coverage in sources independent of the topic, such as CBC News and Bloomberg, as well as academic institutions such as the University of Calgary. I disagree that the tone of this article is promotional and non-encyclopedic. Richiepip (talk) 21:08, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
