I believe the publication date given for this novel (1917) may be incorrect. It was probably first published as a book in 1917, but may have been serialized in 1916. See the Doubleday, Page & Co 1917 edition (scan available at Internet Archive) which on back of title page says copyright, 1917. But in smaller type, at the bottom of this page, says "Copyright, 1916, by Metropolitan Magazine Company". Sorry, I have no idea how to verify this. REMcDowell (talk) 03:12, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
