the name of the captain

[edit]

Captain Karl Ehrlich: the family name "Ehrlich" means in German: honest, straightforward — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.39.251.127 (talk) 16:41, 16 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Character names are not indicated in on-screen cast credits

[edit]

It should be noted that since character names are not specified in the credits, their form in the cast list is taken from various resources, primarily AFI Catalog of Feature Films and IMDb, as well as from personal viewing by editors. For the record, below is a reproduction of the cast listing in the opening credits:

Claude Akins

[edit]

The Internet movie database agrees that this actor was credited as Claude Akin rather than his correct name, Akins with an S. Should this apparent error be footnoted? Humphrey Tribble (talk) 07:07, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Last paragraph of plot out of chronological order

[edit]

The paragraph beginning with "For political reasons…" tells of the sinking of the ship, then goes into the activity which occurred before the sinking. The paragraph needs to be chronologically rearranged such that the sinking is told after the goings in beforehand. GTO3DEUCES (talk) 18:14, 9 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
