1691 play??

[edit]

The previous description had this as a 1691 play - as the text has the premiere in 1706 and other sources have it as written the same year, I have changed it. Lovingboth (talk) 17:34, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Looks like the wrong short description was there for a few days longer than a year - see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Recruiting_Officer&type=revision&diff=1101959162&oldid=1034391966
The play's various references to 1704's Battle of Blenheim should have been a clue that it wasn't written in 1691. Lovingboth (talk) 22:26, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
