Element 112 explosion trait

[edit]

I have corrected the movie summary to state that Element 112 exploded after being removed from water and drying out. I would surmise that deep in the earth, it was under great pressure and kept from exploding. One problem with the movie is that the scientists blame mining and other activities for opening rifts that let the element move toward the surface. Yet, near the end of the movie, the world's powers carry out unprecedented trenching and such that is to let water in, yet this, to my mind, merely worsens the problem by weakening the crust even further, yet the water will evaporate or seep deep within a time far less than a century.
