Invalid Circular Redirect: Poppy Reid to The Music Network

[edit]

The redirect from Poppy Reid to The Music Network creates a circular loop, as the latter mentions Poppy Reid as its editor. This makes the redirect invalid. I propose that the redirect be removed, and one of the following actions be taken:

  1. Create a standalone article for Poppy Reid, if she meets notability criteria.
  2. Redirect Poppy Reid to a more suitable target, if a standalone article is not warranted.

Reason for Invalidity:

If a user searches for "Poppy Reid" and is redirected to The Music Network, only to find mention of her as its editor, this creates a confusing loop that effectively traps the user. Such circular redirects are not in line with Wikipedia's usability and navigation standards, and correcting them ensures a better user experience.

I would appreciate feedback or alternative suggestions from other editors. Musicwikifan (talk) 14:59, 4 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Redirects from a non-notable subject to something they are related to is absolutely in line with our philosophies and navigation standards. We will often redirect the editor of a magazine to the magazine if the person is not independently notable. Primefac (talk) 13:34, 26 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
