Mackerel

[edit]

I removed the following unreferenced claim: "Popular urban myth holds that the vernacular term "Mack" is a corruption of the word mackerel, originally derived from French, but is used as slang for a pimp due to the mackerel's tendency to guide other fish to their mates." If someone can document this, feel free to add it back into the article in an appropriate section. --Junius49 (talk) 18:55, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pimp

[edit]

The article states: "the main character was actually a real life former pimp". Is Max Julien a former pimp, or is the character he played based on a real-life former pimp? Please clarify. Nietzsche 2 (talk) 12:51, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've removed that claim (per WP:BLP). --Junius49 (talk) 19:00, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rewrite

[edit]

This article is poorly developed, sourced, and consists mostly of a plot summary. It needs to be rewritten with information on the film's production and release added to the article as well as the plot section needing to be trimmed down significantly. There should also be more reviews from notable critics added to the article as well and uncited sources either deleted or given proper citations. There is so much work that is needed in order for this article to meet Wikipiedia's guidelines and standards of a well developed, and properly sourced article.--Paleface Jack (talk) 17:18, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
