Preaching by Wikipedia editors?

A major part of a Wikipedia editor's job is to refrain from commenting, to present only what the sources say. Especially to not "tie it all together" by filling in what sources may have missed.

Another major part is to make it perfectly clear which ideas in the article come from which sources, and to have no unattributed ideas anywhere in the article - especially to not reach any conclusions that are not directly stated in a source already.

By these measures, this article appears to be a failure. It appears that a self-appointed expert Wikipedia editor (or more than one) has stepped between the sources and the reader, to preach their version of James Baldwin's work. Everything written by that editor (or those editors) needs to be deleted. Yes it will do violence to this very pretty article, but it's necessary.
