"Variants" - A few problems

[edit]

I suspect these are caused by inaccurate or incomplete translations, likely due to lack of fluency in English...

"Scholarship states that the tale type appears in Europe and Turkey. In Turkish variants, the heroine triumphs in the end over the dervish," Is this a correct statement/translation? "Dervish" normally means a holy man; maybe "devil" was intended???

" while in Europe the fate of the heroine may differ between regions (a Scandinavian and Baltic version, a West Slavic and Ukrainian one)." It would be helpful to know how the fate "differs" in these versions!! Mastakos (talk) 20:10, 1 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
