List of cohosts

There used to be a list of all cohosts and numbers of episodes that they've been on. That was great. What happened to it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to look up whether Alice Fraser or Nish Kumar is third behind Jon, or how close to overtaking Jon they are, or who's fifth behind these three. Or whether I'm remembering rightly that Ian Smith was on it. And I used it a few years ago to scratch my brain itch about how many Bugle cohosts have been Taskmaster contestants (I've just added another one now to the paragraph from memory, but checking complete data is so much better than relying on an incomplete paragraph + memory). Now it just has a couple of paragraphs, uncited and unquantified, of some people who have appeared on it multiple times. But the paragraph is sort of parasitic on the full knowledge that the table used to provide, particularly with its statement about "the show's most frequent co-hosts." Can we have the table back please? (Remember how many Bugle fans are autistics who love this kind of data.) Elcalebo (talk) 21:30, 27 October 2025 (UTC)

I used to contribute, being one of the "nerds on wikipedia" Nish used to refer to. I think it was removed because it was an inappropriate level of detail for an encyclopaedia, and felt that the level of detail was only appropriate to fans, not to a general audience. The jobsworths on this website, honestly. There is plenty of room on the internet! Reminds me of when the page on the 27 Club kept getting deleted as "not notable" and I kept fighting to restore it but losing. Then Amy Winehouse died and it magically reappeared with all the media coverage - media coverage that would have been more informed if the journalists had been able to consult the Wikipedia page.

Regarding this specifically, it's a weird definition of "general audience" to mean "only including info that [neurotypical] people who quickly look at the top of the page might find interesting to read if they stuck around long enough to scroll down, and specially NOT including the main thing that the main group who would read the page (fans, particularly the nerdier among us) would find useful from the page (the thing that is also frequently mentioned on the show itself, most recently in the live show when Andy again referred to Alice and Nish as third and fourth in most frequent cohosts behind John)."

Let's bring it back shall we? There have been no arguments against in this discussion in more than a month and there's no discussion relating to its deletion, whenever that was.

If we can find it in the edit history with a "date last updated," we would just need to go back to that date and start counting forward. I would be happy to do that counting. Looking at that policy (thanks) it seems that:

- it needs to be accompanied by explanation or context (eg that Andy and Alice, at least, often mention rankings on the podcast; that nobody has yet passed John into second - none of this can be captured by the current paragraphs with quite arbitrary inclusions and unevidenced statement about who's been on most frequently);

- in a table is actually better than a paragraph according to the policy so that's good;

- if it's deemed so long as to impact "readability" (honestly - it's as if policy authors thought people didn't know how to scroll or minimise sections) then it would be considered that a separate article would be better. Here we might run into problems because it would need multiple independent sources demonstrating its notability. One would be the podcast itself (but the only actual episode I could link it to is one of the recent live ones - the first I think). If someone is nerdy enough to have a full database of all transcripts, and I wouldn't put it past Buglers, rhey could find where Alice has mentioned it. I wonder if the leaderboard has been mentioned in other media?
