Merge Proposal
[edit]Electric Reliability Council of Texas should be merged into this page because they describe the same entity. In fact, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas page states that "The ERCOT region occupies the entire Texas Interconnection."
This should be the main page (abd not Electric Reliability Council of Texas) because the other North American power grids' wikipedia pages are for each interconnection, not for the regulatory agency of each interconnection. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peace01234 (talk • contribs) 15:34, 20 May, 2008 (UTC)
- Disagree. One is a physically-defined AC power grid (literally, the equipment that makes up the generation/transmission/distribution of electricity within that defined area, which is owned operated by several utility companies), and the other is the operational organization charged with overseeing that grid and the bulk operations of the utilities within it. Just because the Texas Interconnection has only one Reliability Council does not mean their respective WP pages should be merged. To do this would also justify merging all eight Eastern Interconnection Reliability Council pages into Eastern Interconnection. This does not make sense. Fjbfour (talk) 22:40, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
