Source for 1536 birth?
[edit]As i understand it, Japanese practice was to count 'year of life', so the day after your birth, you would be age one, that is, first year of life.
If Tenkai was born in 1536 and died in 1643, that made his 'years of life' 108, a particularly significant number in Buddhism; it sounds a bit like mythologization. Is there a source for his actual birth year? Edsel B. Fnord (talk) 02:20, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
