IPA Suggestion
[edit]Should the Javanese IPA in the article "Javanese pronunciation: [tempe]" changed into "Javanese pronunciation: [t̪empe]"? Because, in the list of Javanese IPA I found on Internet, the letter "t" in Javanese is pronounced as dentalized t.
Linked website to grilled tempeh makes dubious statements about tofu
[edit]From the recipe of grilled tempeh in "Organic Authority":
Unlike tofu, which has been linked to dementia, sterility in males and even breast cancer in women
Agreed, this is external to Wikipedia, but frankly, before linking an article which begins with these statements without providing a shred of evidence, perhaps a different source could be chosen. 81.104.36.244 (talk) 11:19, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed as misinformation, and removed. Thanks for the catch. Zefr (talk) 18:32, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
Title vs article
[edit]If the article's title is "Tempe," shouldn't that be the spelling used throughout the article? If "tempeh" is the preferred spelling, should the article be moved to that title? Joyous! Noise! 03:56, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, most commonly the article name is used in the body. In this case, it came about because a new user boldly moved the article from "Tempeh" to "Tempe (food)", probably not knowing that such a renaming should first be discussed here on the talk page, nor knowing that the names in the article would normally be changed too. Since the renaming was not discussed here, I have renamed the article back to "Tempeh". "Tempeh" is not a misspelling as the user asserted, but in fact evidence indicates that "tempeh" is the predominant spelling, by a wide margin over "tempe". At any rate, now the body usage in the article matches the title. -- R. S. Shaw (talk) 18:59, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
