The practice of using tokens and allowing their specific value to float with the going rate for a phone call eventually became the standard world-wide practice.

Floating value may have been standard among the countries which used tokens, but it seems very unlikely that the practice was standard worldwide as claimed here. There seems to have been plenty of countries with no tokens, or with only limited use of them. Andrew Gray (talk) 16:46, 27 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
